FRIGHTENED HORSE CHARGES AUTO~ <Our Past Index>


In an article published in the Wednesday, March 22, 1933 issue of the Port Isabel Pilot featured a story about a horse and auto accident. The article reads as follows:

A frightened horse with a three gallon oil can attached to its tail caused considerable excitement as well as damage to a parked automobile Saturday afternoon.

The badly terrified animal with the can attached to its fly swatter with serval yards of wire, clattering behind it, was traveling at top speed when it plunged head long into the automobile of Mr. Parish of Kansas City, Mo. The horse was instantly killed and the auto damaged to the extent of twenty-five dollars or more.
