SHOWERS IN CHARGE OF WATER SYSTEM~ <Our Past Index>

In an article published in the Wednesday, May 3, 1933 issue of the Port Isabel Pilot featured a story about the new Superintendent of Port Isabel's Water Works. The article reads as follows:

H.A. (Dutch) Showers is now in charge of the water system of the city, he having recently been made superintendent of the water works system by the city commission.

While Mr. Showers will be in charge of the system water users will continue to pay all bills at the city hall.

Not noly will the recently completed reservoir, now in operation, increase both the supply of water and pressure but the system is now being further improved by cleaning the water mains.
