NEW BOAT FOR SNAPPER FLEET~ <Our Past Index>

In an article published in the Wednesday, November 8, 1933 issue of the Port Isabel Pilot discussed the conversion of a Coast Guard Pickett Boat into a Snapper Boat. The article reads as follows:

The Coast Guard pickett boat, C.G. 903, beached in Mexiquito during the September hurricane, has been purchased by B.B. Burnell and Jack Allen and will be converted into a snapper boat.

The boat, 50 feet in length and powered with a 100 h.p. Lathrop engine is an ideal boat for outside usage. It is now docked at the warehouse of the Burnell Fish Company where it is being placed into first class condition and an ice box with a capacity of 5,000 pounds of fish, is being installed. The boat is provided with a cabin, which will accommodate 6 men and a galley.
