NAVIGATION LIGHTS TO BE INSTALLED BY GOVERNMENT~
<Our Past Index>

In an article published in the Wednesday, December 6, 1933 issue of the Port Isabel Pilot featured this story concerning navigational lights in the area. The article reads as follows:

Assurance that the necessary lights and other aids to navigation at Port Isabel will be installed as expeditiously as possible is contained in a letter from Senator Morris Shepard to Judge J. Q. Louthan, attorney for the Port Isabel-San Benito Navigation District.

The commissioner of lighthouses has advised Senator Shepard that the project of providing the necessary aids to navigation at Brazos Island Harbor were included in the public works program of the Light House Service, and that plans for the work have already been approved.

Requisition for the necessary materials has already been submitted by the district superintendent of lighthouses at New Orleans and while some of the equipment will require considerable time for delivery, it is stated that the equipment will be obtained and installed as expeditiously as possible.
