“The Spanish Fleet of 1554 & The Antiquities Lock”
The Museums of Port Isabel and the Laguna Madre Museum Foundation are proud to
present its “Telling Our Stories” Series of 2010 on Thursday, March 25,
at the Treasures of the Gulf Museum, 317 E. Railroad Ave. at 6:00 p.m.
Steve Hathcock, a historian and lock smith, will present,
“The Spanish Fleet of 1554 & The Antiquities Lock”. Mr. Hathcock
was a founding member of the Historical Foundation and is the Chairman with the
South Padre Island Historical Preservation Board, and also serves as a board
member with the Cameron County Historical Commission. He has written about South
Texas history for the past 25 years, and along with his work, he has published
three books and is working on a fourth.
The Museums of Port Isabel welcome all locals, visitors and
Winter Texans to join us! Drinks and refreshments will be served. Open to the
public. No admission fee.
